Il GGM Studios è orgoglioso di annunciare finalmente il vincitore del GGM Award per l’anno 2011!!!
Dopo che l’ultimo premio se lo era aggiudicato una band italiana, vanto del nostro paese, il GGM Award 2011 ha ripreso a parlare lingua statunitense!Quest’anno infatti lo staff del GGM si è fattoveramente in quattro per dare di nuovo una connotazione internazionale all’ambìto premio musicale.
A dodici anni dal suo ultimo disco di inediti, il personaggio in questione è tornato alla ribalta con un nuovo album, con un nuovo entusiasmante tour in giro per il mondo e con la sua solita classe di cantautore raffinato, considerato da tutti uno dei più grandi “hits maker” di tutti i tempi.
Cantante proveniente dai mitici anni ’80, vincitore di 5 Grammy, un oscar e un Golden Globe…..è l’autore di mitici brani, tra i quali “Sailing”, “Ride like the wind” (eseguito con Michael McDonald) e “Never be the same”.
Ok, possiamo svelare il nome……….per l’anno 2011…….The winner is……….

Lo staff ha assistito con grande emozione al concerto, in una cornice del tutto insolita, dove i ricordi degli anni passati si sono fusi con le novità portate da Christopher durante lo show. Volevamo ringraziare tutto lo staff ed il management di Christopher per la grandissima generosità mostrataci e tutti gli organizzatori dell’evento che hanno reso possibile la consegna del premio.
Un ringraziamento particolare infine vogliamo rivolgerlo proprio a lui, al grandissimo Christopher, per la disponibilità e la gentilezza dimostrata nell’accettare con orgoglio il GGM Award 2011. Christopher ci ha detto di dire a tutti i ragazzi del GGM Studios di essere molto onorato nel ricevere questo premio.

Rieccoci con un'altra super novità in campo musicale.....finalmente dopo lunghi anni di attesa esce il nuovo album del progetto "Mecca", che nel primo capitolo coinvolse membri della Toto-family. L'album che si intitola "Undeniable" esce proprio oggi, 4 Novembre 2011 attraverso Frontiers Records.

Six years in the making “Undeniable” is the culmination of hard work, blood, sweat and tears. Rewind to 2002: the Melodic Rock community is taken by storm by the debut album of a new band named Mecca. Formed by vocalist Joe Vana, he enlisted, among others, the services of former Toto members David Hungate (bass) and Fergie Frederiksen on vocals and close friend and former Survivor founding member Jim Peterik, who contributed masterfully to the songwriting and production of the album.
“Mecca” created a sonic treasure bringing the energy to drive diamond hard rockers and the finesse to create lush power ballads, all with the texture that, until now, only super-groups such as Journey, Toto or Foreigner could provide. Amazing press responses blessed the album’s release and Joe Vana soon started putting together plans for a follow up album.
Songwriting started in 2005 between Vana and Swedish guitarist Christian Wolff. In 2007 things really took a ground breaking turn with the songwriting masterpieces that Vana wrote with Swedish Producer/Song Writer/Guitarist Tommy Denander. According to Vana “The writing synergy between Tommy and I has been amazing, we think so much alike in terms of melody and space but sounds very different melodically than what we both have done separately, so it truly is a union of ideas...”. The musical direction soon showed that new heights in Melodic Rock music could be reached.
Several problems created bumps in the road, including the death of Vana's longtime friend and co-producer / engineer Bryan Mitchell which made the completion of the recording process extremely slow. Vana continued charging forward, enlisting the talents of session masters such as Pat Mastellotto (King Crimson, Mr Mister), Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson), along with Denander and Wolff. His core band was also created around Rick Vitek on drums, Brian Moritz on keyboards, Wally Hustin on bass, Eric Ragno on keyboards, Mark Alano on guitar and Joe’s ace in the hole....his son Joey on guitars and backing vocals.
Fast forward to 2011. Mecca II “Undeniable” is finally completed and delivered. The results are breathtaking. An album which perfectly melts the outstanding High-Tech AOR approach of Mr. Mister’s “Welcome to the Real World” to the commercial sheer brilliance of Toto’s “The Seventh One”. Oh and... the good news is that Mecca III is underway!
If MeccaI was born to unveil the treasures of the Melodic Rock genre to the unsuspecting public, then Mecca II “Undeniable” sets in stone the gospel of this music with stunning arrangements and unbelievable melodies. Meccais now here to stay....get converted to their music!!!

Fergie Frederiksen è stato il cantante dei TOTO su “Isolation”, il loro disco più Hard Rock oriented. La carriera di Fergie si è sviluppata anche con Le Roux, Frederiksen/Phillips, Frederiksen/Denander e un disco solista “Equilibrium”, pubblicato nel 1999. Questa volta Fergie interpreta brani scritti per il disco da Jim Peterik (Survivor), David Roberts (Bad English), Mark Baker (Signal, House of Lords), Joe Vana (Mecca), Robert Sall (Work of Art) ed altri. Prodotto da Dennis Ward (Place Vendome, Pink Cream 69), “Happiness is the Road” è MELODIC ROCK di straordinaria fattura. Da non perdere !

Even though Dennis “Fergie” Frederiksen is mostly known for being the former vocalist of TOTO (in the “Isolation” era), he has been involved in a lot of other outstanding musical projects too. Trillion, LeRoux, Frederiksen/Philips, Mecca, Frederiksen/Denander and David London (solo album, under pseudonym) are simply a few worthy of mention. In 1999 he debuted as a solo artist with “Equilibrium”, an album which garnered great reviews in Europe and Japan. Following a few busy years, where he played live and released albums with the Mecca Project and with Swedish musician/producer Tommy Denander, Fergie is now back with a very special new album entitled “Happiness is the Road”. There is a story to be told surrounding this album: In June 2010, Frederiksen announced he had been diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer. The following months were obviously very difficult for the singer who used music and the recording sessions of this album as a therapy to regain confidence in himself and his strengths. He also found the time and energy to collaborate with Jim Peterik (ex Survivor) on the songwriting of the album’s title track, a real motivational manifesto for a positive approach to life. About one year later, in the summer 2011, Fergie had two great things to share with the World: the first being the completion of the recording of the new album and the second is the positive results to the cures he was under, with the cancer now being defeated. “Happiness is the Road” is a story of love and passion to tell and of course of so many great songs expertly produced by Dennis Ward (House of Lords, Pink Cream 69, Place Vendome and Angra). Fergie Frederiksen is involved in raising awareness of Hepatitis C, a disease he has been struggling with himself. Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is the most common chronic blood-borne infection in the United States. Fergie has arranged benefit shows for the American Liver Foundation, with the cause of fighting Hep C. He went through a successful treatment in 2005, which he is fighting for other patients to receive too. Well, the future is once again bright and shiny for Fergie, so keep going on in your life as “Happiness is the Road”.
